I got these plants, under lights, in my basement...
Vegetable plants. Honest.
But here's the thing. I have more vegetable plants than my garden needs this year. These will be ready riiight around April 15, which is as early as you (if you're in my area) should consider planting warm-weather vegetables. So. If you need any of the varieties that I have, let me know and I'll arrange to get them to you. They're $1 each, just to keep things simple. Here's what I've got and how many will be available:
All of these varieties can be seen and mused over at Johnny's Seeds.
Tomatoes
Pink Beauty 18
Gold Nugget 25
Sun Cherry 26
San Marzano 8
New Girl 14
Bell Peppers
Orion (green to red) 19
Sunray (green to yellow) 14
Basil
Italian Large Leaf 25
Let me know if any of you need any of these and I'll reserve them for you.
I hope you're having a lovely spring! Best of luck with your gardens.

Yep, I know what kind of "vegetables" are grown in backwoods Georgia. The same kind that are grown in Iotla Valley. But seriously, I only wish I had a place for a "garden". I'm thinking the most I can do is petunias again. They're my one and only vice.
I think we have a neighbor a few doors down that grows vegetables too. I am not sure why those people always want to pick up there veggies in the middle of the night though...guess if you eat your veggies you need less sleep. We usually just mooch off my dad's garden, but I will let you know if we change our mind. Thanks!
Erin, I want some, but only if they come with free advice?!?
I have tried for the last 3 years to grow a garden, but the bugs eat it before we can. Please HELP! I was going to give up this year, but my mom wants to come and help me build more boxes and plant it. She is a great gardener, but there are no bugs where she lives and she has no clue how to get rid of them!
I would love for some of your veggies to move into my garden. ;)
someone I work with would like 2 of each type of tomato plant. Just let me know when they are ready and I will be the deliverer. Thanks.
Marsha-I was holding my SIDES and laughing about your neighbors. I guess we need our sleep too much to grow THAT kind of veggies.
The plants should be ready mid-April, and I'll set some aside for your co-worker. Thanks!

Kristin..where is your mother from that she doesn't have any bugs!?! I'm packing my bags to move there.
Honestly, though..what kind of bugs/plants are you having problems with? I'll give you what knowledge I've got. (For whatever that's worth...)
Wyoming! It is too cold. I honestly remember standing outside as it snowed on the 4th of July- no joke. So it's fair to say she has weather tricks, but it's too cold for many bugs.
I have a ton of bugs, but the worst is squash bugs. No matter how hard I try they destroy my squash, and move on to the other plants when I give up and pull the squash out. Also several different kinds of corm worms- I've never gotten my corn to maturity.
I need serious help!
Squash bugs. Hm. Well, first, the best defense againt any pest is healthy plants. Keep your plants well watered, fertilized, and happy, and they can withstand most of the damage from small bug infestations. If you (or maybe your kids) can stomach it, you can turn over squash-plant leaves and crush the orange eggs there, and pick off the bugs and squash them when you find them. (that was punny...)
Or, if things get too bad, there's always this:

Good luck.
